Terms and Conditions

Booking
  1. Your seat or table at the Awards dinner will not be confirmed until full payment is received by the Organisers. 
  2. Guests may cancel their attendance to the awards dinner by emailing events@speak.co.uk . 
  3. Cancellations before Thursday 15th February 2024 will receive a refund, minus any booking/processing fees. 
  4. Cancellations after Thursday 15th February 2024 will not be refunded. 
  5. The Organisers accept no liability for loss or damage as result of cancellation or postponement of the event. The Organisers assume no liability whatsoever in the event the dinner is cancelled, rescheduled, or postponed due to a fortuitous event, Act of God, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of the dinner impracticable, illegal or impossible. For the purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to, war, fire, labour strike, extreme weather, pandemic or other emergency. All unpaid invoices remain due if the event is cancelled for any reason. 
  6. Guest fees for the dinner are subject to UK VAT at the prevailing rate. Ticket costs may be paid by credit card. The Organisers reserve the right to invoice for any costs incurred to process bank transfer payments or from international payments. 
  7. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the programme or withdraw speakers or other elements of the programme without prior notice and will accept no liability for any loss or damage caused by amendments to the programme. 
  8.  Final guest names and dietary requirements must be sent to Speakeasy Productions by Wednesday 28th February. Failure to provide names and dietaries by the deadline may result in guests not being catered for. 
  9. Children are not permitted at Scotland’s Life Sciences Awards Dinner due to licensing laws. 
  10. By booking to attend Scotland’s Life Sciences Awards Dinner you accept these terms and conditions.

Speakeasy is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. 

We respect your right to privacy and will only process personal information in accordance with applicable data protection legislation in the EU, and elsewhere. We will comply with applicable data protection laws. This involves us being responsible for personal data which we use in connection with services, and equally our Partners will be responsible for personal data which they use connection with services. 

Speakeasy works with trusted partners, developers and publishers, payment providers, customer service software providers and others. 

For personal information contained in this Privacy Policy which is used by Speakeasy, Speakeasy is the data controller under European Union data protection legislation. For personal information contained in this Privacy Policy which is used by our Partners in connection with Speakeasy services, then the relevant partner(s) will be the data controller under European Union data protection legislation. 

Children below 18 cannot use Speakeasy services and we do not and will not knowingly collect personal information from any child under the age of 18 without consent from their parent or guardian. 

Speakeasy may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. Once we change the Privacy Policy, it will become legally binding on you 30 days after we post it online. During that period, you’re welcome to contact us if you have specific questions about the changes. We ask you to agree to changes to this Privacy Policy, otherwise unfortunately we have to ask you to stop using Speakeasy services. 

This policy is effective from September 2018. 

We may collect the following information: 

  • name and job title 
  • contact information including email address 
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests 
  • other information relevant to delegate surveys 

What we do with the information we gather 

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a tailored event experience, and in particular for the following reasons: 

  • Internal record keeping. 
  • We may use the information to improve our event experience and offering. 
  • We may periodically send information emails and other notifications about the event and event content or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided. 
  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email or phone. We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests. 
  • Accountability purposes as defined by EU legislation (GDPR) 
Payments

PAYMENTS 

If a payment is made, we process only limited payment processing information. We are notified by the payment processor once a transaction takes place, but we will not receive any of your actual payment details. 

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers or those of our trusted partner services. 

Trusted Partners 

We don’t share information about you to third parties. The exceptions are our Trusted Partners, that help us deliver our Services and functionalities to you. We always provide our partners with the minimum information necessary for them to help us. They may have potential or actual access to limited data about you and process it on our behalf (they are formally called “Data Processors”): 

  • Third party vendors that provide us with internal management and data sharing tools. 
  • Third party vendors that provide us with analytical tools. 
  • Third party vendors that provide us with email marketing tools to help us managing our email communications.

But whenever we’re sharing your personal information outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, we will do so on the basis of the EU standard contractual clauses or Privacy Shield Framework which are lawful measures to transfer your data and establish adequate protection of your personal information. 

How we use Cookies
